There is this notion that tells you that life is too short to sit unhappily in a job you don’t like. Countless people are quitting their jobs hat because they feel miserable. They say, If you’re unhappy, you should leave, pack your bags, and just go.

Well, this can be good advice, if you know where you want to be and what you want to do.

However, it’s terrible advice and you are responsible, not anyone else, only you. Why?

If you are not sure why you hate your job and you’re equally not sure what you want to go and do, you need to work on something much larger than changing your job.

You need to work out who you are:

I know, because I've tried several jobs, when I was searching for jobs I tried to find any excuse that shows that this job doesn’t suit my need.
I was jumping from one job to another making excuses about them, but in fact, deep down I knew that the problem was in me.

After a job-hopping and months of unhappiness, I realized that if you don't know who you are, you will continue to jump because you don't know what can make you unhappy.
It is difficult to digest it. I know. Because compared to determining your identity, moving to work can mean walking in the park. But if you really want to find your source of happiness, you must start by figuring out who you are.
In this job, you will be like anybody else. There are a lot of people advocating that you should just quit now without thinking. It seems that if you don't do this, you will burn spontaneously. But many times, when you feel that you hate what you are doing, can be based on some potential problems that you need to figure out first. and as a result, people quit their jobs prematurely, and they jump from being miserable and being able to pay the rent to being miserable and unable to pay the rent. They are never stressing about worrying about money or what they want to do with their lives because they only worry about how to make a living. That's why you need an exit plan, and before that, you need a "who am I plan".

The ‘who am I’ plan:

It sounds cheesy saying “I need to know who I am”. But in the world of the internet and apps likes Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat... tipping us all into ‘group thinks’ it’s nearly impossible to work out if you actually feel this way or you’re just riding the bandwagon.

What you need is to figure out who you are. who you want to be in this world, What you stand for.

Deep down I know but it will guide every decision you make, so it’s pretty important for you to work out who you are.
“When I discover who I am, I’ll be free.”― Ralph Ellison, Invisible Man.

You feel bad when you act in contrast to who you are. It’s like your identity takes a kick in and it’s sat there asking all kinds of questions of you.
·        if you are someone who looks after their money, you will feel uncomfortable, going on a night out and consuming crazy amounts of money.
·        if you identify as a productive and hard-working person, who rates a high work ethic, you will feel bad for being lazy.
·       if you are working in a job that feels at odds with what you want to do with your life, you will have that weird feeling.
So, don't hesitate to look at yourself in the mirror and consistently ask questions about yourself.

Experimentation + learning:

Or what we call ultra self-awareness or ultra- consciousness. It allows you to get deeper and deeper into the things you want to do and the things that give you joy and enjoyment because simply, you understand who you are and what you want from the universe.
Also, taking notes and writing down everything you learn about yourself, helps you find ultra self-awareness. By constantly asking questions of yourself and learning from the answers.
·         How was your day? Did you enjoy it?
·         If your answer is "yes", what made you enjoy your day?
·          If it’s nice outside, would you feel happier?
·         How does food affect the way you think?
·         Do you enjoy working with others? or do you prefer working by yourself?

By constantly asking yourself questions you get to the main cause that makes you not happy at work. of course, I am not talking about having a boss you hate or you are working unfair hours or anything along those lines, quitting and moving, will be better.

But if this is a much deeper question, If you don’t know what you want to do with your life, you might found significance in working out who you really are first, it will open a lot of doors.

If you are not careful and prudent, you will start a cycle of quitting. You will start a new job, work for a while, think you hate it, and leave it There is a good balance between resigning because you are unhappy, resigning because the job does not suit your identity, and resigning because it is difficult.
If you know that this job does not match your identity, then there is no problem with resigning.
