I have dreams, and goals I want to achieve, I want to make something so I can one day tell my kids and my grandkids what I have achieved in my life. I want to be inspirational. I want to make a print and be proud of what I faced. What is stopping me?
Lack of
motivation, coming home tired and exhausted after a long day of studying or work?
Here are
some tips to make your dreams become a reality.
1/Your environment:
A lot of
studies have shown that you can’t be productive in a messy room, or home.
One of
the ways to keep you motivated is to avoid distractions: smartphones, food,
toys...
So turn
off your phone’s notification, clean your room and especially your desk.
This will
help you concentrate more.
Just set
a time in your schedule for your house chores before getting into work.
2/Your goals should be your daily routine:
Ask
yourself, what habits do you want to indulge in your daily life and what do you think is related to your dreams and goals?
For
example, If you want to build a stronger and healthier body, then you need to
include in your schedule time for workouts, cooking a healthy and balanced meal.
If you
want to avoid internet addiction, then you need to add in your schedule time
for practicing other hobbies: reading, painting, dancing...
Or if
you desire to be a more organized person in the future, to know how to plan for
your work programs, plans, events..., then begin with simple tasks, for
example, cleaning your room, your desk, before going to sleep, write your to-do
list for the next day, and you will see improvement in a short time.
Indulge
meditation in your daily routine, it will help you clear your goals, know
yourself better and heal your body and mind from the feeling of weakness, stress, anxiety...
3/Take it slow:
It is ok
to feel you are wasting time, it is ok
to feel it is taking you so long, and you are not having results.
Everything
takes time, what comes easy, vanishes easier.
Start
By observing your habits objectively, try to find out what are the things you
do, on a daily basis, and are consuming your time without giving much in
return. Try to modify them, or replace them. Life is just an experience that
gives you lessons.
Don’t
feel guilty, because it will only make things worse.
Take
some rest, day two, even week or month, and remember your mental health matters.
4/To-do list work:
Clear
your goals. set your priorities.
Make a
list of the important things to you and challenge yourself to finish your goals
for today.
Don’t
overset your goals, 5 to 7 goals will be enough and you can increase them
over time if you find yourself able to complete them.
Do not challenge yourself with goals you know deep down they are hard to achieve in one day. This will only boost disappointment and lead to a lack of self-esteem.
Even cleaning your bed every day, just after you wake up, is a challenge, and in the long run, this will help you build consistency. so you won't give up easily when you face new and harder challenges.
5/Consistency:
Of course, you will feel drained, you will give a lot of time and energy to small things. Which
can make you incapable of keeping going.
It is ok to feel this way, to take some time to rest, maybe a day or two or a week or more.
But what is not Ok is to give up.
I know that feeling when you spend so much effort, sleepless nights, thousands of researches, and you are not getting the results you want.
That's when consistency comes, learning to be consistent helps you keep going no matter what. You have a goal and you are holding yourself to it. consistency means trying, failing, and trying again, it is much better than just thinking of these goals and not starting, because you are afraid of losing.
Holding on to your vision is important, to make you remember that time, when you believed in yourself and your dream when you believed they can become absolutely possible.
Keep in mind that is natural that what you focus on expands.
