We all have that feeling when it comes to the new year, a new start, I am sure that a lot of us set some goals and plans and get excited to achieve them, but they quit as soon as possible.

Instead of trying to achieve goals, try to make small changes that will help you reach them.

Try to indulge in some new habits in your daily life that you know will help you to reach your bigger goal.

Here are a few habits that are very effective and helpful.

1/Make a Plan:

   New year -> new start.

Write down your goals for the new year. It is a good way to get started.

For example, this year I'm going to be more confident, healthier. Have a growth mindset, I am going to take care of my skin, eat healthier food, save money, and not buying everything I like.

Also, don’t forget to make a plan to get needed support to accomplish your goals for example:

Do researches for every goal to help you achieve it. How to begin? What steps you should follow?...

For example:

For my skin:

Do a skincare routine every night, search for helpful and cheap products, avoid chemical products...

For saving money:

Put aside the things that I haven't use for the whole month: clothes, accessories...and if you could, just sell them.

Save 1 to 5 dollars every day.

2/Make Small Changes:

It is part of making a plan.

Focus on small changes that you know will help you to reach your general goal.

For example: wake up early, clean your bed, meditate... these habits will help you to be more consistent and as a result you will be able to not give up easily on making your dreams possible one day.

Another example: if you want to lose weight, try using the stairs instead of the elevator at work, or the mall... try to have a cup of water with lemon, mint, strawberries... instead of soda.

Try to walk or use the bicycle instead of the car. These small changes will help you accomplish your goal of losing weight.

3/Make a purpose of reading a book:

You need to know the impact of reading a book on your life, your mind, your way of thinking.. it is simply amazing.

By reading, you will be able to learn from the mistakes of authors, their findings, their expertise. read a chapter every day.

Try to write down the purpose of the book and use your preferred organization tool or use a journal.

Choose the type of bok you want and just start, fiction, romantic, action,...

What I mostly recommend is, reading books that help in self-improvement. and personal development. read books that teach you new healthy habits, that help you be the best version of yourself, books that help you build financial thinking, etc...

4/Find a hobby:

Be productive and have a practical purpose. Back when we were children we had so many hobbies that we did for fun. Nowadays, social media is dominating our souls.

We prefer hours of checking Instagram, TikTok.. rather than doing something helpful.

Choose at least one day per month and lose yourself in a productive activity: painting, drawing,  writing,  sculpting...

Here is a list of different productive hobbies you can practise to help you be more productive and discover your skills.

5/Journaling:

Many are wondering how to start journaling, I know it can be hard at first, but I promise as soon as you get used to it, it will become much easier and a daily routine.

You can start for example by having gratitude journaling. What are the things you are grateful for every day?

Or journaling to express your feelings and emotions. Why are you sad today? What made you feel this way? What do you wish happened instead? What you can do so you won’t be in this situation next time?

6/Meditation:

I really encourage you to include meditation in your daily routine, it is a hard practice I admit, but it is really helpful, it helps your mind let go of anxious thoughts, release tension in your muscles, feel the calmness in the whole body.

There are a quite few meditation apps that guide you in the right way. Even, listening to nature sounds provides a peaceful mental environment.
