Before, when I woke, I used to switch on my phone,
check social media for hours, then have a breakfast that includes only carbs:
croissants, cakes, chocolate... and sometimes I don’t eat. Then go to school.
During summer, I lived nights watching series and
movies and wake up at 1 pm to continue what I was doing the day before.
I was always feeling tired, hungry, dizzy I had 0
energy.
I knew that was
wrong. I knew it will affect my health in the future. So I decided to change
these habits.
I spend a big time searching on the net, listening to dieticians,
fitness trainers, reading articles...
I write down a schedule and tried to stick to all the
tasks and achieve at least 70% of them.
It has been a year since sticking to this routine and
I’ve noticed a big change.
These new habits changed my life entirely, they become
a daily routine, no more dizziness, and laziness. No more staying up late.
1/ Wake up early:
You need to feel every part of the day.
If you want to be productive, then you need to have more time in your day so you can work on multiple different things and feel that you made something.
2/ Avoid your phone:
Before going to sleep and after waking up try to avoid checking your phone, it is not the end of the world if you didn't see that post right now or not talking to that person at that time: we all know that phones release radiations that affect our brains cells and cause sleep depraving.
In the long term may cause cancer. Let every morning be your morning.
3/Practise gratitude:
Always be grateful for what you have and haven't. Be grateful every day for opening your eyes and having the opportunity to live another day safe and sound. Be grateful for your ability to see, hear, walk, read, eat.. some people stay starving for days, some people were born blind or deaf.
Thank God every day for these blessings, and try to do your best to maintain them or making them better without that feeling of greed.
4/Hydration:
Drink water: Have a cup or two of water just after
waking up. you can add a slice of lemon and some mint to help detoxify your
body and begin your day energized.
5/Make your bed and clean your room:
A lot of studies have shown that your environment
affects the way you think and plan. An organized environment makes you think
more clearly and the opposite is true.
Make it one of your daily goals to clean your bed and maintain a clean desk.
Clean space= clean headspace.
6/ Skincare routine:
Although I am a big fan of skincare products, I don’t
have that many products. I only care about keeping my skin clean and hydrated.
I use bioproducts that help my skin absorb essential nutrients.
7/Practice some yoga:
10 minutes of yoga or meditation is very good to set
up your mind and body and to change your mood in a positive way.
Begin your day with some stretching, breathing... and you will find out how these simple technics are effective for boosting your energy level.
8/Have a Breakfast full of nutrients and vitamins so it can help you continue your day without being tired:
Examples:
*Avocado toast with eggs.
*Oat pancakes with different fruits and dark chocolate or peanut butter or both.
*Smoothie.
*Banana cakes
*Bananas and strawberries with dark chocolate
*Omelette with pepper, tomatoes, onions, spinach
*Scrambled eggs with some olive oils and 2 slices of
bread
*granola with yaourt, nuts, and fruits
9/Set your daily goals:
Make sure to have daily goals, make a plan for every day, and try to achieve 70% of your to-do list. don't challenge yourself with big goals, start small, step by step, this will help you be more disciplined, gain trust, believe in your abilities, and the best of it, you will have to stop making excuses.
10/workout:
Whether high intensity, low intensity, stretching,
dancing, yoga flow...
Anything that makes all the parts of your body move. Just move your body, and let your heart beats faster than usual, a lot of studies have shown that working out has a great effect on changing your mood for the better and helps you think more clearly.
With these habits, you will be ready to begin and plugin for the day.
For more help, I advise following the formula from "Atomic habits". It is a great book for those who want to change their lifestyle for the best and let their brains work.
I started one habit, built it upon the other one, and then finally formed this morning routine.
